Dr. Tony Hutchins, DVM graduated from the University of Georgia Veterinary College in 1982. He joined Dr. Richard Wilkes in practice the same year and became partner in 1984. In 2004 Dr. Hutchins became the sole owner of Pell Animal Clinic, Inc. and Farm Veterinary Services, Inc. For more than three decades, Dr. Hutchins has served the small animal community, horse community, and cattle industry. His specialties include equine reproduction, bovine reproduction, and embryo transfer. He is a member of The American Embryo Transfer Association.
Dr. Christopher Sumner, DVM graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Upon graduation he practiced in Maryland for two years. He joined our team in 2005 and became partner in 2007. Dr. Sumner is originally from Pulaski, VA and has spent most of his life working with horses and livestock. He enjoys time with his wife and boys and takes pride in his flock of Hamshire sheep.
Dr. Martin is a 2018 Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine graduate. He joined our team that spring. Dr. Martin was raised on a beef farm here in Franklin County. He enjoys working with his cattle on that same family farm where he lives with his wife and sweet Labrador. He is dedicated to the well being of all our farm animal patients.
Sandi joined the team in 1990 and is our practice manager. She is also a Franklin County native. Sandi enjoys time with her husband, daughters and her extended four-legged family.
Bo joined the team in 2008 after moving here from Florida. She started out as our groomer and now she will be happy to greet you at the front desk. She enjoys spending time with her family including her grandchild.
